Colorado Computer Support (CCS) is pleased to announce that one of our Network Engineers, Steven Jordan has been appointed our HIPAA Compliance Officer. Steven had an extensive medical IT background prior to joining CCS from his time at Madigan Army Medical Center.
As a HIPAA Compliance Officer he will work with our clients to ensure they and their business associates meet technology compliance and security requirements in accordance with HIPAA. Steven will provide assistance with the management of IT security policies, procedures and technical systems to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our clients’ organizational healthcare information systems.
CCS provides HIPAA technology reviews and consulting to ensure our clients meet HIPAA and HITECH regulations; and Steven will work with them to conduct HIPAA technology audits to ensure their compliance with HIPAA/HITECH and Meaningful Use Stage 2. Compliance is mandatory for Colorado medical clinics and healthcare entities to receive benefits and funds through government initiatives.
Steven is also responsible for maintaining CCS’s HIPAA compliance as a business associate for our clients; and the training of all CCS staff on HIPAA requirements.
