Critical Mailchimp Settings to Improve Email Campaigns
Mailchimp is an email marketing tool for businesses that want to amplify their online presence and effectively reach their target audience. Mailchimp has been with tech-savvy and non-tech-savvy people in mind. It is easy to use and it has been designed so that anyone can use it to send out appealing emails and social campaigns.
Mailchimp has a variety of great tools, features, and settings, although some are more hidden than others. Over the years of using Mailchimp, we've found that there are some critical settings and features that some Mailchimp users don't use or don't realize exist. This is understandable. Mailchimp is a big platform, so it's easy to miss some features and settings. Today, we're looking at some critical email settings. Take a look and see if you have adjusted any of the critical Mailchimp settings.
Use Inbox to Manage Replies
Did you know that you could filter out-of-office replies for email campaigns that you send? When this setting is enabled, you'll stop receiving out-of-office replies, but you will continue receiving genuine replies to your email campaigns. Some marketers filter their out-of-office replies to a specific folder and leave them there for an undetermined amount of time, which is not the best idea.
By logging into your Mailchimp account and accessing your account details, you can manage out-of-office replies. You can use out-of-office bounces to your advantage. Instead of trying to determine how you are going to address those email bounce backs, use these email marketing best practices to your advantage by doing the following:
- Create a follow-up email campaign
- Update the subscriber's information
- Set up a new class of metrics
Auto-Convert Videos
Blog posts can automatically be sent as emails to certain groups of contacts in your Mailchimp email newsletter system. Not only is this an amazing time-saver, but it also makes it easier to spread relevant news and information to multiple channels. Since this process is easier, you will be able to communicate timely and relevant news even more often.
However, what happens when a blog post that has a video embedded into it is sent out as an email? It will look great in the blog post, but it won't show up in your Mailchimp email newsletter. Why? Basically, it's because of some mumbo-jumbo that I'm going to skip. Fortunately, there is an Auto-Convert Videos option in the Mailchimp settings. When this setting is enabled, any video that is embedded in a blog post that is turned into an email newsletter will be seen as a screenshot with a link to the video.
Other Critical Mailchimp Sending and Tracking Settings
Track opens. Mailchimp's system will count people who opened the email.
Track clicks. Mailchimp's system will track clicks in the email.
For many, one of the best parts of sending email newsletters is reviewing the statistics after a campaign is sent out. You can compare it to checking your latest blog post or YouTube video for comments. How many people opened your email newsletter? How many people clicked? What areas of the newsletter did they click? Did they enjoy the content?
Once you send out a campaign, you will anxiously wait for the statistics to start rolling in. Your Mailchimp's account dashboard has key details about your email campaign that you can use to help you improve on the next one.
Using Mailchimp to Reach Your Target Audience
You have established your target audience —and they all need to hear from you. There are times when you want to send everyone the same message, but sometimes you want to specialize your email campaigns. Sometimes you want to send an internal newsletter that is intended for your staff, financial reports that you want to send to the board, or maybe you want to send an update to everyone on the mailing list. Mailchimp makes it easy for you to add content and design emails that are tailored to your brand. With Mailchimp's critical features and settings, you can track the performance of your email campaigns with ease.
Mailchimp's key features and integrations can make your job easier by automating the annoying and frustrating tasks, like signing in to other applications to access the data and information you need for your email marketing. Plus, Mailchimp's features and integrations make it easy for users to sign up for your email list.
The Future of Email: Email Is Still Relevant
With so many ways to engage and communicate with your target audience, don't forget about the inbox. Email is still alive and kicking. Trillions of emails are sent and received every year. Email continues to be one of the most effective tools for reaching out to your target audience. However, one of the challenges you may need to address is how to optimize your emails so your emails are not ignored or that your subscribers don't click the unsubscribe button. This is where Mailchimp makes its grand entrance.
